The 1 April 2016 Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) files (XML, DOC, PDF, ZIP) are now available to download. For details visit the
April 2016 Latest News page. In addition, historical data files and documentation relating to the files are now available along with the data file downloads.
As announced by subscriber email in July 2014, the ASCII file was discontinued commencing February 2015. The XML file contains the same information as the ASCII file and will continue to be supported. You can sign up for announcements relating to changes to MBS files on the
MBSOnline subscription page.
Please note: The files listed on this page provide general information on the arrangements for the payment of Medicare benefits. These arrangements operate under the
Health Insurance Act 1973 (as amended). These files are not legal documents, and, in cases of discrepancy, the legislation is the source for payments of Medicare benefits.
