Page last updated: 29 July 2022

From 1 July 2022 MBS items for colorectal surgery services are changing to better align these services with contemporary evidence-based practice. The changes are a result of the MBS Review Taskforce recommendations for colorectal surgery services following extensive consultation with stakeholders.

The changes include deleting outdated items, combining items that are provided together into a single item, and updating the descriptors of items to better describe modern techniques.
